The Association was created by a group of people whose common bond was a strong interest in the preservation of BAJA CALIFORNIA County’s wilderness and the desire to experience the beauty of our mountains, deserts, and beaches. The founders felt it was important to foster a sense of wonder and respect for our natural surroundings through personal experience.Members of the Club lead weekend outings including day hikes,, and backpacking trips. Destinations include beaches, foothills, mountains. Adventure trips have gone further afield to places such as La Mision , and also to El Descanso.

You must be especially careful when hiking in Baja's mountains. You will need twice as much water since it is so hot and dry. Good sun protection is also essential. Make sure to have good footwear, as you may encounter a rocky terrain in some places. The temperature cools down quite a bit at night, so make sure to have enough layers of clothing to be comfortable.
